SINCE 1952
The story begins in the villages and workshops of the region — places where the earth is dry, the air carries the scent of wool and dye, and the rhythm of the loom has echoed for generations. Artisans here are not counted as laborers; they are custodians of a craft that has shaped the beauty of homes across the world.

Before a single knot is tied, the journey begins with the tactile selection of raw, hand-spun fibers. This foundational stage honors generations of tradition, as master artisans curate materials that possess a natural, living character. It is in this quiet intimacy with the wool that the life of a heritage piece is born, bridging the gap between raw potential and timeless art.

A hand-knotted rug is the most demanding form of textile art. It begins with a pattern drawn on paper, translated into a grid of instructions that the weaver will follow for weeks, months, or even years.

The journey from loom to your home is long and deliberate. Once the weaving is complete, the rug is cut from the loom, trimmed, washed, dried, and finished by another set of hands. The back is inspected, the edges secured, and the surface restored to its natural softness.

Owner Al-Shahzadi HK Limited
Avais grew up between the lanes of Hong Kong and the rich heritage of Persian craftsmanship — the family carpet shop on Queen's Road East was as much home as anywhere else. By 17 he was running his own carpet business in Repulse Bay. His path then took him through interior architecture and corporate design across Hong Kong and the United States, sharpening an eye for space, texture, and beauty. Today, he leads with the same quiet conviction that has defined the family name since 1952 — that every home deserves an exceptional carpet, and every client deserves exceptional care.
